This hike felt comparable to one’s I have experienced in Banff but it is only 3 hours away from Quebec City!! On this hike, you’ll pass by a huge waterfall, rivers, streams, and the Saguenay Fjords! The views at the summit are absolutely insane and it is so worth timing to be at the top for sunset!

🚙 3 hours from Quebec City + 5.5 hours from Montreal by car
🏔 10 kilometres roundtrip, 480 meters of elevation gain. There is one section towards the end that is steep for quite a while but SO worth it! Overall this hike is definitely manageable, even if you’re out of shape 🙋🏼‍♀️
📸 if you want to get some epic photos, I’d recommend timing your hike so that you arrive at the sun out about one hour before sunset. Definitely stay until sunset because the views are spectacular with golden light! Don’t forget to pack a headlamp for your descent as it will be dark!

And just like that, three weeks in Alaska flew by!! I find that while travelling, time passes by SO fast! I used to feel that I’d get home and didn’t take in each moment and so here are three tips I’ve learned that really helps me live in the present moment while travelling to truly take advantage of each trip!

1) Embrace spontaneity: Leave room for unplanned adventures and say yes to unexpected opportunities. Let go of rigid itineraries and allow yourself to be fully present in each moment.

2) Disconnect to connect: Take breaks from technology and immerse yourself in the local culture. Engage with locals, try new foods, and soak in the atmosphere without the distractions of screens and notifications.

3) Practice mindfulness: Take a deep breath, observe your surroundings, and engage your senses. Tune in to the sights, sounds, smells, and tastes around you. By savoring each experience, you can slow down time and make the most of every travel memory.

Flying over a tidewater glacier in Alaska was by far one of the highlights of my trip! We arrived at the @valdezstol air show one day early and a pilot asked if we wanted to fly with him! We could not believe it and instantly said yes and minutes later, we were flying in a bush plane over the coastal town called Valdez, experiencing things we had only ever dreamed of!
